Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Club Services Manager will be responsible for developing and delivering the Club Development & Services department’s strategic and operational objectives. Specific attention will be paid to coordinating the Club Education, Club Outreach, and Club Mediation programs.

Responsibilities

The Club Services Manager will be responsible for the following but may be assigned additional responsibilities as needed by the organization.

Overview

The Club Services Manager shall be responsible for the day-to-day administration and coordination of the NorCal Premier Soccer Club Development & Services department, subject to the policies and directives of the BOD
Main pillars for the department shall be:

  • Club Education Program & Resources (Every Level – Tech, Operational, Development, etc)
  • Club Outreach Program
  • Club Mediation Program
  • Club Education Program & Resources

Develop a full suite of free, NorCal-branded club resources, including but not limited to:

  • Operations – procedures, volunteers management, HR, parent info, club structure, philosophy/vision, organizational charts
  • Legal – contracts, IC vs Employee info, 501c3 basics & requirements, board meetings, meeting notes
  • Financial – budget, financial aid, fee collection
  • Develop, design & deliver a regular Club Development education curriculum throughout the year
  • Develop workshops for club operations education
  • Identify expert presenters in running a youth soccer organization (e.g., grant writers, HR professionals, CPAs, etc.)
  • Club Operations Development
  • Develop workshops for club operations education (similar in format to NorCal coach education)
  • Identify expert presenters in specific areas of running a youth soccer organization (e.g., grant writers, HR professionals, CPAs, etc.)
  • Club Technical Development
  • Work with NorCal Technical Committee & Coach Education to provide resources to assist clubs with their technical development (e.g. age-specific curriculum, lesson plans, tryout processes, player feedback forms, coach evaluations, match evaluation

Club Outreach Program

  • Working with Competition staff & Club Membership Coordinator to identify clubs in need of assistance
  • Creating action plans for clubs in need of assistance
  • Identification and management of PT staff to assist in delivering Club Outreach Program

Club Mediation Program

  • Oversees process for club mediation issues that are referred from the PAD
  • Including investigating the facts of issues and reporting to the EC/BOD for decision making
  • Communicating EC/BOD decisions to club
  • Good of the Game Initiatives
  • Management & development of NorCal’s annual grants program
  • Management & development of NorCal’s sportsmanship initiatives
  • Identify and drive growth of Good of the Game Initiatives
  • Data/impact work to quantify the economic & social impact of NorCal programs
  • Hispanic Club Development: Assist development of existing clubs and develop a program to create clubs in the existing hispanic leagues or markets. This may need a Hispanic/Spanish-speaking person.

Others:

  • Attend NorCal staff meetings as and when appropriate
  • Monthly full staff meetings
  • In-person planning meetings as advised and appropriate
  • Assist in maintaining positive relationships with clubs
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
  • Maintain a cooperative relationship among other US Club Soccer organizations by communicating information to appropriate groups, responding to reasonable requests, building rapport with necessary groups, and participating in necessary program development groups

Qualifications

Candidates should possess a deep understanding of the game of soccer and experience in the club soccer landscape. Candidates should also possess superior skills and/or experience in the following areas:

  • Ability to manage people and to solve problems
  • Personal integrity
  • Timely responsive-verbal, email and phone call
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and time-management skills
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated and open-minded
  • Computer skills, Google scouting database, Microsoft Office

Relevant Experience

Candidates should have schooling or experience in:

  • Youth soccer administration and management
  • Coaching of elite youth athletes
  • Soccer club management
  • Non-profit or business management
  • Mentoring organizations and/or individuals
  • Leadership within the youth soccer community
    PERSONAL QUALITIES

This position requires an individual who is motivated and highly organized, with strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. The candidate must also be proactive and able to produce a high volume of work within specific time constraints. The candidate must also be of high integrity and able to work independently and collaboratively with others while professionally representing NorCal Premier.
