Club Overview

El Dorado Hills Soccer Club (EDHSC) is a private 501(c)(3) non-profit youth sports club that serves the El Dorado County youth soccer community. The club was founded in 1984 to provide recreational soccer opportunities to Sacramento area youth soccer players.

El Dorado Hills Soccer Club is a community-based organization in which its members, including players, parents, families, coaches, teams, and the local community, collectively provide an enriching environment that enables growth, development, teamwork, success, and positive values while creating life-long experiences for our soccer community.

Job Description

The Professional Soccer Coach/Trainer will be responsible for providing high-quality coaching and training sessions to players within the youth soccer club. This role requires a strong understanding of player development principles, technical expertise, and the ability to create a positive and engaging learning environment.

Responsibilities

Plan and Execute Training Sessions: Develop and implement age-appropriate training sessions that focus on technical skills, tactical understanding, physical conditioning, and mental resilience.

Player Development: Work individually with players to identify areas for improvement and provide personalized coaching to enhance their skills and performance.

Team Coaching: Coach assigned teams during practices, games, and tournaments, focusing on team tactics, strategy, and game management.

Player Evaluation:Conduct player assessments to track progress, identify strengths and weaknesses, and provide feedback for improvement.

Coach Education: Participate in coach education programs provided by the club, including workshops, seminars, and mentoring opportunities.

Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with players, parents, and club administrators regarding training schedules, player development plans, and other relevant information.

Player Recruitment: Assist with talent identification and recruitment efforts to attract talented players to the club, ensuring a competitive and inclusive player pool.

Professional Development: Stay updated on the latest trends, techniques, and best practices in soccer coaching through continuous learning and development.

Compliance: Ensure compliance with club policies, rules, and regulations, including safety protocols and code of conduct.Community Engagement: Represent the club positively within the community, participating in outreach events, clinics, and other promotional activities to promote the club’s mission and values.

Qualifications

  • USSF coaching license (minimum D license, higher licenses preferred).
  • Previous coaching experience at the youth level, preferably in a competitive club environment.
  • Strong understanding of player development principles and age-appropriate coaching methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with players, parents, coaches, and club administrators.
  • Passion for soccer and a commitment to fostering a positive and supportive learning environment for young players.
