Harbor Soccer is dedicated to developing youth players both on and off the pitch. It is our mission to create an environment for players and families that provides the highest level of training, competition and player development in the State of Washington. We also understand that Harbor Soccer is not only a platform to teach the beautiful game but also an opportunity to lay the groundwork of life-skills that will serve our players long after they have left our program.

Job Description

Harbor Premier, located in Gig Harbor, WA, is seeking highly motivated, professional soccer coaches to work with players across ages U8 to U19.

Applicant must be committed to developing the technical and tactical abilities of Harbor players to their fullest potential while also emphasizing values & virtues such as sportsmanship, teamwork, leadership, community responsibility, personal responsibility, and respect for self and others.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and run at least two (2) training sessions per week/per team – attend/run 3rd technical
  • Rangers session as appointed by Directors
  • Follow & Support the Harbor Soccer Way & Club Philosophy
  • Follow and abide by Harbor Premier Coaches Code of Conduct
  • Follow and abide by Harbor Premier Coaching Non-Negotiables:
  • Be In Uniform – look professional
  • Be On Time – arrive before the arrival time scheduled for your players
  • Be Prepared – written lesson plan for sessions, equipment needed, game balls
  • Be Enthusiastic – your team will feed off of your energy – or lack of it!
  • Be Attentive – No phone calls/texting or extended conversations with others during sessions/games
  • Be Available – provide feedback, talk to parents often, send emails, work with manager
  • Always wear approved Harbor Premier Soccer gear for all trainings or when representing Harbor at games and tournaments.
  • Communicate directly with TD/DOC regarding any variances with assigned weekly training. Forward all concerns, regardless of severity, in email form to all of the following TD/DOC for assistance in resolution and record keeping.
  • Attend & participate in club skills academies, clinics, training seminars, coaches meetings
  • Conduct parent meetings and player evaluations as needed or required by the club
  • Complete a minimum of two (2) written player evaluations during the 2024-25 season for each player on the roster

Qualifications

  • Coaching Licenses
    • United Soccer Coaches National
    • United Soccer Coaches Advanced National
    • United Soccer Coaches Premier
  • Valid authorization to work in the United States required;
  • US Soccer D license or higher required (or equivalent United Soccer Coaches diploma) – C license or higher preferred;
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred;
  • High level of previous soccer playing experience preferred
