The 90+ / SPS After School Soccer Program uses soccer to provide social-emotional learning (SEL) to elementary youth. The program runs for 6 weeks with 2 sessions per week at two SPS elementary schools. Each session features soccer skill development, engaging activities that involve practicing SEL skills, and SEL-focused discussions.
The after-school coach director will lead the After School Coaches and other 90+ coaching staff to implement the 90+ Project soccer curriculum in all soccer activities, incorporating physical activity, character development, and mental health skills. This program is designed to engage and support all students at all ability levels. Elementary students we will be serving are in 1st through 3rd grade.

What We Look For In An Ideal Candidate:
Is committed to a more welcoming Spokane. This person has experience working in and building community; ideally in a sports based youth development organization. They have familiarity with inclusive practices, passion for the impact sports can have on the holistic development of youth, and are passionate about serving youth in a way that empowers them to reach their fullest potential.
Is a self starter, empathetic mentor and compassionate leader who knows how to keep people working towards a goal and provide support and motivation when challenges arise.This person should embrace and embody the vision and values of The 90+ Project and be eager to build meaningful connections as a member of a highly functioning team. Exceptional interpersonal & organizational skills as well as communication skills; written and verbal is ideal.
Would be a seasoned coach who has experience in coaching youth of different age ranges and skill levels, prioritizing an approach that is fun, inclusive, and utilizes best practices of positive youth development. They would also understand and be committed to 90+’s pay-what-you-can model, ensuring inclusivity and affordability and would work to strengthen ways to center the voices of participating youth and infuse character, leadership and mental skills into program design.
This is a part-time (10-20 hours per week) temporary, 2-month position.
